As I would soon learn, that was not the case. Earlier in the day, around 2pm, Jacquelyn, one of the supervisors at Papersource, had witnessed a man walk up to my bike, look around, pull out a pair of wire cutters, and proceed to cut the lock off my bike. I wanted to show my appreciation, but more than that, I wanted her to know how special she was for what she’d done. There are too few times we go out of our way to help family and friends, let alone strangers. Jacquelyn’s actions reminded me of the goodness we are capable of, and the impact that goodness can have on others. We’re all in this together, after all; we might as well stop and remind each other every once in a while.
