Is it Time to Fire your Coach?

A couple of days ago I was talking to a friend of mine at Veloro Bicycles. He was asking me about a couple of mutual friends/clients of ours, he specifically asked me about one, let's call him Jaime.   He said, “he has made incredible progress since he started working out with you.” I agreed with him, and I said, “Yes he has. We are going to do Ironman Arizona together this year, and he just got a coach”.   His answer was, “I thought you were his coach”.   I said, “no I am not, he is got a formal coach...

What do you want to be?

When was the last time you asked yourself “What do I want to be?” As I child, I grew up in a third world country. We were poor, but one thing was important for my parents. I know I will get to where I want to go, and you should too and here is why. Fact: 99 percent of people who start marathons finish them. What an incredible success rate. The biggest fight,...

Riding with the Brakes On

Being the biker aficionado that I am, a few months ago I went on a long ride. I was having a harder time than usual. It felt that, although I was trying harder I wasn’t moving any faster. Nevertheless, I plowed on, and after I had finished the ride, I was not very happy with my performance. I proceeded to load my bike on the car to go home. Then I realized what had happened; I had been riding my bike with my brakes on, literally. The back brake had been rubbing on the wheel all along, unknown to...
